ProMaterial Technologies contributes to innovative digital industry procurement platform for the carpentry trade in Germany
GD Holz (Gesamtverband Deutscher Holzhandel e.V., Berlin) is presenting the Woody Award for the 15th time. The award recognizes products and concepts that make everyday life in the timber trade easier and better.
With the digital procurement platform LIGMENDO, an innovative trading and sales platform realized by CREATIVE PARTNER was awarded this year.
ProMaterial Technologies GmbH provided significant support in the back-end and front-end development and data preparation of the manufacturer and retailer article data.
CREATIVE PARTNER currently comprises 450 companies in the window and joinery industry. The specialist companies are mainly active in B2B business and generate a joint purchasing volume of around €500 million.
Gerd Fähler, Managing Director of CREATIVE PARTNER, emphasizes: "ProMaterial has implemented the requirements of our member companies in an outstanding manner. Our aim of reducing non-productive time in the joineries has been fully met. The ordering process has been significantly simplified and made faster. There are also many advantages for suppliers. For example, the digital order formats from LIGMENDO can save personnel in order entry. In addition, the susceptibility to errors is reduced thanks to clear orders. The bundled shopping baskets from LIGMENDO can also be better bundled logistically. This saves freight costs and protects the environment."
There is definitely a need for LIGMENDO in the industry: In order to find products, research availability and process orders, work planners, project managers and purchasers usually use several web stores in parallel, making umpteen phone calls to representatives of supplier partners.
"In challenging times and staff shortages on the one hand and digitalization on the other, this waste of time is no longer acceptable," says Bernhard Daxenberger, President of the Bavarian Carpentry Trade and Chairman of the Board of Directors of CREATIVEN PARTNER. LIGMENDO provides the solution here: the browser-based platform brings together the trade, specialist retailers and the industry in the joinery and carpentry trade in digital purchasing and thus optimizes purchasing and sales processes.
"More than one million articles from over 500 suppliers are already recorded and processed in the LIGMENDO portal," reports Nils Gagzow, who is the technical partner for the LIGMENDO front end with his company ProMaterial. "Our aim is for LIGMENDO to mature into a comprehensive industry platform and a large marketplace for the trade. This shows the full potential of digital solutions and we are proud that this has been recognized with the Woody Award," summarizes Gagzow.
In practice, the platform forms the central anchor point for all retail processes and all product data so that these can also be used optimally at all times. The digital procurement and sales process significantly increases profitability for retailers and the trade. Everyone involved also benefits from the integration of UniversalTypes (https://www.buildingsmart.de/universaltypes), which are used to describe construction products and their properties in a manufacturer-neutral way. These are under the auspices of buildingSMART International and are being further developed together with the industry. In addition, image material, technical drawings or usage and installation instructions as well as CAD data can also be stored in LIGMENDO.
